Good Earth Land Design is a design build firm specializing in creating fine landscapes that respond to Vermonts unique natural beauty and history. We strive to create landscapes which are timeless, calming and engaging. We partner with our Clients throughout the entire design and construction process, ensuring that the built landscapes and selected plantings flourish, creating a natural soothing environment. Our expertise includes all phases of site design & project management and landscape construction.
We begin by meeting with the client and establishing a vision based on their lifestyle, needs and budget. How they intend to use their property and their expectations of the completed project are paramount in establishing design parameters in this initial meeting.
Equally as important are observing and recording the physical characteristics of the site. This site analysis process studies topography, vegetation solar orientation, wind patterns and views which guides us in developing a design which responds to the natural features of the site and beyond.
The next step is to develop a sketch design. These hand sketches illustrate initial ideas and concepts in a loose and informal way and are a stepping stone in establishing a more concrete design. Integral to our designs is an interactive collaboration between stone, water, fire and metal.
