We Love Public Spaces

We love to help beautify areas in town which serve as gathering places that define a sense of community. Places like little league ball field Greven Field (above) and Proctorsville Green (below) are both hubs of activity for our town. 



Proctorsville Village Green

This project involved the design of a public park in the village center.  The existing site was formerly a woolen mill which burned in 1983 which resulted in an abandoned, unsightly parcel.  We received the 2009 Vermont Public Space Honor Award for Vermont's Exemplary  Public Spaces.

Cavendish Town Elementary School

 We were engaged to develop concepts for an abandoned lot adjacent to the school.  Several public workshops resulted in a design which added additional parking as well as developing a mini park and restoring a natural spring fed pool into a bog garden.  The intent of the design is to create a quiet complentative space and to offer students the opportunity to be engaged in studying natural ecosystems.  The project is ongoing involving volunteers with completion anticipated 2020.

Proctor  Bicycle & Pedestrian  Scoping Study

n this Bike & Pedestrian Study we partnered with Dufresne Group, Civil Engineers to develop a scoping study for Proctor Vermont to develop alternatives for possible routes.  The process involved public input, analysis of existing infrastructure and social  & environmental connections.
